This year NSGC will theme of change from the tagline ‘Moving Forward’ to ‘Building.’ We will begin 2022 by incorporating the J.E.D.I. Action with a transition continue the Planning Task Force recommendations and undertaking a new strategic plan for the organization. The “Building” plans will outline new charges, expectations, and strategic initiatives for our association. Throughout this building process, we acknowledge that the construction may be messy at times. We expect loss and uncomfortable unknowns as we implement new structures and processes with the goal of creating a more equitable, inclusive, and just experience for our organization and its members. Mid-year, the J.E.D.I. Action Planning Task Force will be invited to suggest short-term changes and modifications to our strategic objectives. The vision of this new strategic plan will spark long-term initiatives and commitment from the organization for years to come.
Members engaging as a part of the 2022 strategic plan will have an opportunity to contribute to the re-envisioning of the organization and the path we take forward. The transformation process will take communication, coordination, and lots of working together. Our board is dedicated to leading these efforts throughout next year. Meghan Carey, Executive Director, and I look forward to supporting you during the process.
